CELEBRATING OVER 25 YEARS OF COMMUNITY CAMPING
For over 25 years, our annual Cambodian American Community of Oregon (CACO) Community Camping weekend has brought together Cambodian and Cambodian-Americans from Oregon and SW Washington, as well as many individuals and families from all over the country and even the world!
What started as a small gathering of a handful of families in 1998 has now grown to over 1,000 attendees in 2022, and now over 1300 guest in 2023. Families from Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, California, Texas, Alaska, and even as far as Canada, France, and Japan have traveled to our CACO Community Camping weekend on the Oregon Coast to join in this highly anticipated event. Our CACO Community Camping weekend provides a chance for attendees to reconnect with their Cambodian heritage, as well as to engage with other families from their community. Traditional food, music, dance, and games are just a few of the activities that attendees can participate in. Our weekend event is also open to everyone and all are welcome to attend. We encourage newcomers to learn more about how Pacific-Northwest Cambodian diaspora exists and how monumental our connection with the great outdoors is. Our CACO Community Camping Planning team and volunteers would like to give a big thank you to everyone that made it to celebrate our 25-year anniversary on August 25-27, 2023 at Camp Meriwether in Cloverdale, OR. |
